FS: PC bits and bobs
cd.thomson - 18/8/10 at 09:03 PM

Evening,

Rents are having a clear out ready to move house once I move out.

They've found a batch of reasonably retro PC bits which I thought you might be interested in. Reply for more info, I've only glanced at the stuff and I know more details will be needed before anyone buys.

7900gt pci-e graphics card - £15

6600gt (128mb) graphics card - £10

various sticks of DDR ram, at least 4 sticks of 512mb, and a couple of others. £10

a couple of processors and cooling fans, one of them is AMD, the other intel. Both old school single core. I believe the AMD is 64bit architecture £10 each

mobos suitable for the above £10 each

3 dvd drives, couple of them are rewriters £10 for the rewriters, £5 for the reader

a sound card £2

a 4 slot usb pci card £2

a wireless networking pci card £2

Various cables (IDE, not SATA) £50p each

couple of PSUs £5 each

Basically everything from two separate desktops minus the hard drives (not sure if theres any sensitive info on them) and cases (which seem to have been dismantled)

All + postage, offers considered.

Would prefer to flog it as a job lot, but I'm easy.

All of the parts were working when last used, but haven't been fired up in some time so are a bit dusty. As you know PC parts are notoriously easy to fry when PC building, but I will accept returns on anything that doesn't work regardless of if you've cocked it up on your end .

Just to add: I'd also except part-ex for a zx6r!

ever thought you might just be on the wrong forum for selling bits like that, Craig?

Don't forget, the majority are grease monkeys on here - not computer geeks!

By the way, who are 'rents'? And more importantly, have you bottomed your XE cat / no cat IVA nightmare yet?

I dont know, there are a fair few 'computer geeks' on here. Just look in the Computer/other site problems forum.

haha, yes I know but we're also all about "low cost" and I thought these bits might appeal! Sorry if it came across a bit like spam..

rents = (pa)rents as they pay the rent .

My old man should be collecting my exhaust tomorrow while I'm out training to ride a motorbike. It's had a cat fitted so should hopefully bring those emissions down.

Also Dax have solved a secondary "self centering" issue for me yesterday by fitting some new ball joints into my front wishbones (apparently I'd cocked them up).. and they should be arriving today.

I'll IVA week after next (going to majorca this week coming) and let you know how I get on.

You sound much more positive about the car progress, now - it's good to hear you a bit less desperate than in a few of your posts a couple of weeks ago....

Good luck with selling the bits, have a good rest in the sun, then get that Dax on the road - I'm not too far behind you, now - I'll keep you informed, Craig.
