I have a completely dismantled Dutton Phaeton with a Q Reg V5, no engine, but about 90% complete, email me at wayne37davie@hotmail.com and I can send pictures and details. Looking for £450 ovno. Thanks

Why popcorn? Looks like a genuine sale to me, he's not saying I've got a dodgy v5 off a dutton if anyone wants to ring a car is he?

Exactly

That might be the case reading between the lines, but what he's actually offering is perfectly legit, assuming the v5 matches the chassis. If a buyer chooses to use the v5 on something else, that's their call and the seller is not to blame!

The reason I mention the Q reg is that I had car listed on evil bay and someone offered to buy it so I ended listing, he pitched up and went It's got a Q plate, and then didn't buy it. I'm offering it on here to people who have genuine interest in kitcars, not tossers from Ebay, but if your getting the popcorn in I'm partial to the sweet n salty variety.

I'll never understand the aversion to Q plates, they are perfect for a kit car!

Same here. I went for a 'Q' plate in preference to an age related one. More benefits, especially regarding emissions.

We've had 19 kit cars somewith late 70s or early 80s age related plates and quite a few Q plates
Honestly they all drove the same and you can't see the plate while driving!
Only issue is if you feel the need to change to a personalised plate or aspire to register the car overseas

I think age related for a reproduction car - otherwise Q is fine
