Seat Ibiza TDi 130 with Knackered engine

Just thought I'd try here before the scrappers. The sump was holed recently and I've replaced the sump (26 bolts!!) but on the way to the MOT the big ends were knocking quite badly. It passed the MOT (yesterday) but the smoke test did the worst & on the way home the engine died plus there seems to be an oil leak from a turbo pipe. It still turns over on the starter motor but no chance of it starting.
The car is an 02 on 151k and has the 6speed (does or did 80 @ 2k revs and 60mpg). The suspension is lowered on koni shocks/springs and has been well looked after. It's yellow(the lacquer has peeled and there's the odd scrape but nothing major),3 door with the extra insruments and better specced than the FR which followed in 2003.
It's the other halfs car which has now been replaced so needs to go. It's no doubt worth more as a breaker but it would be a shame not to put it back on the road - would be suitable for a MK2 Golf conversion. These are pretty quick as they're the lightest car with this engine and it's insurance group 8.
Will take £500 - car is in Leicester

Imho, if you want anywhere near £500, you're going to have to break it yourself! The market is flooded with cheap cars with the price of scrap metal keeping the prices low. There was a 03 plate Passat with similar toys fitted, but a working engine on the local FB car sales page for £500.
Good luck though.
