Hi,
I have decided to go to freeSat, so im selling my Media Center PC.
P4, 3ghz, with Silverstone silent heat sinks.
1gb Ram.
320 gb hard disk.
Dual Hauppauge Nova-T DVB-t Freeview cards
NVidia 6200 silent Graphics card with DVI/HDMI output.
DVD writer.
Windows Media Center 2005 ( fully patched ).
Ill add in a Wirelss card too if you require it.
Its in a black Silverstone case that makes it look like part of a stero system. The Dual freeview card allows you to record two programs at once, or
watch one and record another. there is a flap at the front of the case with USB ports, audio ( as well as on the back ) and firewire ports.
I can post some pics, but i dont have any one me at the mo.
Here is a link to the cases website.

Can it be networked (hard wired)?
If so I'd be very interested!
Wyn
yes, it has a a 100mb network port built in to the motherboard.
I use it networked so that i can listen to music on a NAS, and store TV programs on my network for later viewing.
U2U me if you want some pictures as i have some pics of the inside of the machine.
Have you ever used it to run 1080p HD movies?
no, my TV is only 720p.
Nice box! Is it quick enough to play full 720p content from h264?
Chris
No idea im affriad,
Media Center its self will not play H.264 ( the america HD is mpeg2 ) but it will play Terminator SCC in HD perfectly fine with no stutter.
Most of the HD stuff I download is from the US, and in H264... but I guess it's been transcoded. Let's face it, most SD stuff is in DivX,
and I don't know of any networks that broadcast natively using that!
Interesting that it will play HD stuff though. I'm having trouble with a 3.2 P4D desktop doing H264, but my AMD64 x2 6000 (which is just 2 x 3.0
GHz AMD cores) plays it fine on my TV under Linux. Guess media centre is a lot better optimised for that kind of thing!
Anyway... I'll stop clogging up your thread now. I'm sure someone will have this off you at that price!
Chris
Media centre will play .mkv files. I'm watching one on mine atm. I've just upgraded the machine to 3400+ AMD 512mem and it plays
720's no problem.
In order to get MCE to play mkv's all you need is a small .reg file (available on request) and codecs.

i have really slimmed down my machine by stopping all unneeded services, turning off themes and all that gumph.
Still for Sale.
You have U2U!
