Just bought myself a new caravan,so I need to make room for it,so free to good home bessacar 550gl twin axle caravan, its a old mid 80's one.
The good bits, alco galvanised chassis twin axle, good tyres, brakes, hubs and bearings etc, good tow hitch, pneumatic jockey wheel, all lights working and
good wiring, always well serviced by me,tows great,so for this reason would be ideal for someone making a car trailer.
Inside it has fridge,oven,microwave,all lights working,12volt charging,and 240volt,its a 5 berth,kingsize double at the front,double at the rear with
a drop down bunk above,toilet/shower room with porta potty.
Bad bits,.caravan has not been used for sometime, although as Ive said above running gear is spot on,but during the winter water has leaked in through
the roof around the vent for the water heater and fire,I have now seal this, but there is a fair bit of damp still here and there, the damage has been
done now,the roof inside sagging Ive had to gaffer tape it up,the water heater is leaking, the front handles that you pull the caravan around with
have rusted off,it could be worth doing up for someone, even if its just to try out to see if they like caravaning,if someone wants it for this
reason,it will come with a full sized awning with curtains in good condition, waste and water carriers, and few other bits and bobs,so just hitch up and
off you go locost holiday.
Anyway its free to any locostbuilder who wants it,but it MUST be moved by this Sunday night,I just have not got room to store it.I am sure I could
sell it but I am just too busy and don't have time or room.So it it will have to go the scrapman on monday

someone could always remove the caravan from the chassis, and then modify it into a car trailer
can't believe you were going to scrap that, if I was closer I'd be in the car right now
Sorry for the dumb question, but does it weigh more than 750kg? Guess it does, but my licence is limited as I'm young.
If not I'm interested.
It weighs about 1250kgs unladen,1550 kgs gross, its about 23ft total lenght including hitch ,and 7ft 3" wide.
That was quick, going to new home, pending collection tonight, thanks for everyones interest, cheers Paul
