15" Image Split Rims & A048 tyres.
Doctor Derek Doctors - 9/12/13 at 08:40 PM

It's with great sadness that I'm selling these wheels as they are absolutely stunning but 13" is what I need for competition and I can fit tyres to them myself.

Anyway, for sale a set of Image 3 piece cast split rims, style is BPS in Gun grey with polished outers. I believe they are 6" wide with a 1" wide outer rim (I will measure the offset if anyone is seriously interested).
They are ford fit 108 PCD with and ford fit centre spigot and tapered wheel nut seats (not the ford type top hat nut) all centre caps are present.

They are fitted with hardly used Yokohama A048 medium compound tyres 195/50/15 size (have done 2 dry trackdays where we were running in the car, and one wet day where we did about 10 laps at a snails pace)

Also worth mentioning that they are fitted with BBS bolt in aluminium valves supplied for their GT racing wheels, not crappy rubber ones

They are practically unmarked (slight marks where tyres were fitted), no chips and dents.

These wheels are £250 each from image and the tyres are £150 each so £1600 a set!

I'm looking for 1/2 that so £800.

I know it's a lot but it's breaking my heart to sell them and they are truly gorgeous wheels, if you've spent time and effort to make a nice car then these will finish it off perfectly. It's certainly worth viewing them and for this amount of money people are welcome to come and have a trial fit and see how they look on there car (I will keep a firm hold of your keys )

I'm in Derby, collection only obviously.

Nice wheels, interested, all depends on the offset!

I'll measure them when I get home tonight to see what the offset is like.

They were spec'd for Ford kit car donor use though so fit over The standard Willwood replacement / m16 calipers at the front and Sierra Cosworth calipers and discs at the back, the pictures were taken with no spacers fitted so you can see how they are just the right width for Locost wheel arches

Interested too, but again heavily dependent on offset.

Doctor Derek Doctors - 10/12/13 at 08:16 PM

I measured them tonight, there is no offset stamped into them obviously as they are split rims.

Overall width across the bead is 6" with a 4.5" inner rim and a 1.5" outer.

The measurement from the flange face to the inner edge of the rim is 120mm.

All four wheels are the same.

It would be quite simple and cost effective to buy two new inner or outer pieces to give yourself wider rear wheels if that is what was needed.

I've taken some pictures but can't get the upload to work from my ipad, I can send pictures by e-mail or text though.

skippad - 10/12/13 at 08:22 PM

I'll check my wheels, and i'll get back to you

carpmart - 10/12/13 at 08:29 PM

I make this a 44mm offset, is my maths right anyone?

Might be a few mm more than I can handle

Hellfire - 10/12/13 at 08:38 PM

Offset(ET) = Backspace(T) - Overall Width(OW)/2

ET=T-(OW/2)

ET=120mm - (150mm/2)

ET=120mm - 75mm

ET=45

I measured the 120mm from the inner edge of the rim (which has an extra protective lip) rather than the bead so the offset would be more like ET40.

You could always space them out though, as said they don't fowl the usual locost/Westfield brake/hub/arch set-ups.

Final question from me is what does a wheel and tyre weigh please?

Hellfire - 10/12/13 at 08:59 PM

Assuming I've understood the measurements correctly, if the backspace is actually 125mm from the mounting face of the wheel to the bead edge, that would make the wheels ET50

Phil

No the other way round. 115mm from the mounting face to the bead edge making it ET40

u2u.

carpmart - 10/12/13 at 09:15 PM

ah, ET40 could work then!

I have no idea, the weights for the wheels nor' tyres are on Image or Yokohama websites and I don't have any scales.

All I say is that they feel lighter than the 13" Compomotive ML's that have replaced them

skippad - 11/12/13 at 05:04 PM

after measuring and remeasuring and calculating, ive worked out the offset is going to add 20mm each side...
which means front arches will need seriously "re-adjusting" to fit and the rears will rub on heavy cornering.....so sorry they not right ones for me

daniel mason - 11/12/13 at 05:31 PM

id highly doubt with a 40mm+ offset they will make it wider! unless your currently running over et60 which id also doubt!

Painted them with my own free hands, the naked chick on the bonnet was done by an artist friend of mine.

I'll do your nose cone if you by the wheels!
