VW/audi 1.8 Turbo Engine & Ancilleries
I put my passat up for sale the other week and got no interest so im going to break it.
1999 s reg 1.8 Turbo 150bhp engine code AEB with all ancilleries to run. Engine has done 94600 miles. can be heard running/driven before purchase.
Doesn't smoke rattle etc. These are very tunable engines and would make a se7en type car go like sh*t of a stick.
£795 for the lot.
Ive had a look on ebay and they tend to go for this price just for a bare block so this is cheap.
Gearbox can be had for £100 extra.

Try it on VW forums too. Im sure they are a sought after mod for Golf's etc.
Arent they the exact same engines as used in 225bhp TT's - but with the ECU remapped?

I think there is more to it, different turbo, injectors and ecu. maybe other stuff too.
Even using this a base 250-300bhp is not that far off for little money. They are very tunable engine.
Id love to keep it and fit it in the back of a car with the standard transaxle gear box but i need the money lol.

The TT uses a BAM or EAD engine I believe... slight differences in the block and turbo size!
I would be interested in the engine if it was the other way around!!!
Sadly people wanting the engine for a golf conversion would want a transverse engine...
That passat engine would make a cracking mid-mounted engine in something!!!
