Excellent value courier - ebay £12.95
Just thought I'd pass on to the forum a link to a parcel firm I have used 3 times now.
They have an ebay shop -
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/UNITED-PARCELS
and there is a standard price for items up to 28kgs and 1.4metre length.
They actually use parcelforce / TNT / DHL and the other big firms without the big firm's prices.
Very easy to use next day service. I can't fault them.

Couriers can be debated all day I guess but charging 12.95 on eBay they are relying heavily on the fact that people don't realise for 10.99 via
eBay parcel force can be used ?

I see you are a big seller on ebay.
Maybe that makes a difference, I don't know..
When I last sold a heavy item (18 kilos worth of subwoofer + cabinet) I checked the postage rate on ebay's estimator.
It stated £10.99 - via parcelforce 48
The small print at the bottom reads....
* The costs displayed above are based on Royal Mail rates but should be used as guidance only. Please visit the Royal Mail website for confirmed
prices and for further details on sending items with an irregular size or weight.
On following this advice, the quote for 18kgs is...
Parcelforce 48 Guaranteed 2 Days Up to £150 Tracked £21.99.
As I said in the original post, the courier I used is 'next day service' (this is £25.99 for an 18kg parcel with parcelforce).
Further, they deliver a next day service for up to 28kgs.
I have just bought a pair of seats off ebay - I arranged the courier from my end - they collected from the seller's house and delivered to me
next day.
I was very chuffed with this service, and, knowing mail ordering parts around the country is an everyday occurence with kit car builders, decided to
share my experience with the other members of the forum.

Hi,
The 10.99 is available to anyone via eBay, to any UK postcode except the Channel Islands.
We have a very good deal with parcel force due to volumes but still use this option for several postcodes, NI, Scottish islands for example as its
cheaper than using our account.
Great business idea though by them, cant fault them.
eta totally agree with your comment regarding your seats for example, having something collected and delivered to you for that price is a good
deal.
