FS: Home stereo equipment - Updated
I'm selling my Hi-Fi equipment to raise some cash. It's all in very good condition - most of it in excellent condition.
It'll be going on EBay tomorrow night but always happy to sort something for LCB'ers.
This has been an excellent and extremely powerful setup - one I've poured many pounds into!
All the equipment was/is highly reviewed and each purchase was carefully researched before I purchased it.
There is....
1 x Cambridge Audio C500 Pre-Amp.
2 x Cambridge Audio P500 Power Amps.
1 x Sony CDP XE520
1 x Marantz CD 52 MKII
1 x Target Audio Hi-Fi Stand
2 x Gale HiFi Speaker Stands (pic on way)
2 x KEF Cresta Speakers (Pic on way)
2 x Mission M73i speakers (pic on way)
Sound quality is spot on - I had the twin power amps (P500) bi-amp'ed (an amplifier for each speaker) and it is a very loud system - more than
capable of filling a very large room with a very big sound if needed.
The matching pre-amp (C500) is also an excellent amp and well reviewed too. It's complete with remote and like the power amps, it's had
very little but careful use.
The Marantz CD player used to be the CD player to own of dreams. It was very very highly reviewed in its day and was a CD player many wanted to own.
It cost me a fortune at the time and it still sounds superb. It has digital out too so although it's a little dated now - It's still easy to
add an external DAC and make it sing.
The Sony is a good unit too - I don't have the original remote for this but I do have a generic compatible one. Sound quality is excellent with
this but in all honesty the Marantz has the edge - despite the difference in age.
Finally - The Target Audio stand. This is a hefty piece of furniture but truly does help improve the quality of the system further. The cables can be
neatly routed down the back and the unit can house spikes if that's house friendly for you! The shelves are removable and made from chunky
"black ash" effect chip. The structure is metal and sturdy. The five shelves can each take a great deal of weight - no matter how heavy the
components are!
The KEF Crestas are fantastic speakers - will be sad to see them go. I'll take a picture of these tomorrow and give you more details too.
The Mission setup consists of two floorstanders, two bi-polar rear speakers and also a centre speaker too. They've seen very little use but could
do with a dust off - I'll take a picture of these tomorrow too.

Will put onto Ebay tonight but to start tomorrow at the better time. Postage is possible but collection may prove to be cheaper. I'm near

that is a Target TT5 shelf unit.
The top shelf, for a tunrtable, has adjusble spikes whereas the others sit on small rubber buffers.
when new, cost about £ 150.

Marantz CD 52mkII - that takes me back a few years. I had one mated to my Pioneer A400 amp, another HiFi press rave review component

Thanks for that! Not too sure it does have the adjustable shelves though - they're fixed I think.

It's a classic Nick - Still sounds superb even though it does look quite 80's now!

I have the same hi-fi stand I think. Mine has spikes in the base and for the turntable shelf. Nicely made.
Also another vote for the Cam Audio stuff, great entry level hi-fi. I only changed mine last year when I upgraded to Roksan stuff. For the money it
can't be beaten

Thanks for that David. My stand has the capability for spikes on the bottom and having lifted the top shelf for the first time - it does have holes
for spikes but I've never had any!
So thanks to 02GF74 and Flak, I'll claim it is a TT5!

keeping it!
