E 10 petrol
E 10 has been mentioned a couple of times on the radio, the gubberment are asking us to check if it is ok for our vehicles

i know it,s the guberment so likley to be a bit wrong in places but might be worth checking

Just a thought, shouldn't they know the answer as they have all registered vehicles listed on their computers so will know how many engines
would/might be affected by it? It would also be their duty to then contact all registered users about how it will/might affect them ? I've no
idea, I'd need to ask someone like Burtons, so hopefully those in power would do the same for old engines.

It attacks copper, brass, some types of rubbers and other things - if your car has a carburettor, copper/brass fuel fittings, older fuel pumps, steel
tanks without a sealing coating, non-oem fuel hoses (except very recent ones), you should expect problems. Time to invest in some fuel additives or
keep an eye on where E5 or even plain petrol can still be bought.

This starts in September although E5 will still be available as super unleaded - for some time.....
There are lots of additives available but not sure how effective they are.

Most filling stations round my way still sell super unleaded. Often it's the BMW 316i drivers (with M badges) filling up with it.
I'm at the tight end of the scale and fill up with the cheapest one
