Complete MX-5 MK1 Donor Car Package
Hello again,
Following on from my other thread in here, i have my donor package availible.
All of this has been stripped off of the donor car, save you having to break the car down (perhaps due to time and space constraints) and also saves
the agro of having to try and get rid of the shell. This was destined for my own project, but unfortunatley due to other commitments i have had to
call it a day and finish one of my other many projects.
All of these parts were removed from a 1989 1.6 MX-5 which had covered around 90K.I went with this age of donor vehicle because i wanted to dodge the
need to retain the Cat, which this donor vehicle allowed. I had wanted to retain an age related plate rather than a Q plate so have everything here
for any builder to do that. The sale will consist of the following.
Up to date V5 with my details
Chassis Plate
Cut out Chassis Plate with VIN Number
Complete engine with all ancillaries
5 Speed Gearbox
Exhaust Manifold
Prop Shaft
Rear diff
Drive Shafts
All 4 Brakes
All 4 Uprights with hubs
Full Wiring loom and fuse box from Donor Car
Fuel Pump
Steering Column
Escort Steering Rack
Solid Rack Mounts
Custom UJ to mate MX-5 column to Escort Rack
Hand brake
Hand Brake Cables
Mounting plate for Handbrake cables and all clips
4 Wheels and tyres
MX-5 Clocks and Speedo Drive Cable
MX-5 Pedal box (these have been retrofitted into the roadster)
Brake & Clutch Master Cylinders
Brake Splitting Valves
As far as i am aware, this is everything needed for a Roadster build. If there is anything missing from the list, i have probably just over looked it
so please do enquire.
I retained everything i knew i need and even parts i thought i might need. I had seen on the Haynes forum that people were reusing quite a few parts
out of the MX-5 that the guides and books didn't suggest, so i just kept them in the hope of doing the same. I kept the whole wiring loom from
the whole car, theory here was that i knew this was working in the car, so when it came to wiring i could connect everything up that i still had, then
trim out anything that i did not need. Seemed the most logical way to do things.
The manifold as per the Saturn guide can be made to fit a side exhaust, I actually have a Caterham system with Cat that i can include for an
additional cost.
There also seems to be a problem with the Speedo cable on these builds, the exit out of the gearbox causes undue stress on the cable and can sometimes
result in it breaking, as such i had intended to run an Acewell dash, which i can include for an extra cost.
I am based in Kent for collection purposes, however i think i could load the majority of this up on a pallet, wrap it all up, strap it down and get it
couriered to anywhere in the country, however worse case scenario it might have to be a pallet and a few boxes.
Price wise I am asking £1,000 Offers are welcomed.
I will dig everything out for photos in due course, however there will be nothing overly interesting to see.
Alternatively, i would be prepared to break this down into separate parts if anyone wanted specific bits.
