Free 1.8 Pinto & Five Speed Gearbox

Free 1.8 Pinto & Five Speed Gearbox - Well Almost !

I have a Jago that I'm going to start dismantling shortly.

I don't need the engine the gearbox but if someone is willing to help remove the engine & box then they can have it for free.

The engine runs, but only after pouring petrol into the carb.

It seems a bit smokey but some fresh petrol and running it for a while might improve things.

The gearbox appears to be fine, car will move forward and backwards, but can't drive any further as there are no brakes

The car has been standing for a while but has been started regularly according to the previous owner.

If you're interested and can turn up at a weekend in the next month/six weeks with an engine crane, then please mail/u2u me.

I'm in Nuneaton nr Coventry.

Cheers

Is it not possible to keep Jago intact?
Have you thought of popping an ad on the Jago Owners Club Forum?
I'm sure with your location there would be somebody who would rebuild it

Loads of gear boxes and engines knocking about but not too many Jagos.

We have owned some rea ldogs but have always managed to get them back on the roads, I have only ever seen one that was a breaker and that had been stored ina damp barn for 12 years and chassis snapped when it was being towed out.

Just my 2 p worth

I did quite fancy a jago to make into replica willys jeep. There's and original ww2 one going about Aberdeen with the canvas roof, so cool

The Jago will be rebuilt.

I just don't need the engine and gearbox and I'm short of space.

I do (very) occasionally post on Jago Forum with the same id.

Cheers
