FS: Corolla AE86 engine
I have for sale a Blue Top Ae86/4AGE engine, bought as a project to replace my CVH engine in Locost hillclimber. I've decided to go 2 litre
class now and bought an XE.
Spec is as follows:
Engine is complete with:
Clutch/flywheel
Distributor with brand new cap
RWD exhaust manifold - apparently these are so efficient there's no need to go to tubular(expensive) manifold until a very high rate of tune
It does not have the following:
Alternator
Starter
Inlet manifold
Injection system
I'm not sure what it's worth, a complete engine seems to fetch around the £450 mark but these are getting rare nowadays and purely for
spares I would say it's got to be around £150
On that basis I'm open to offers around the £150 mark.
I have not examined the bottom end internals so cannot comment on the state of bearings, bores etc. However it turns over easily by hand. The cams
look to be in good condition.
I'll put some photos up later today.
Obviously due to weight this is a collect only sale. I live in Yorkshire.

Is it too expensive?
Is it to rare?
Is it simply a boat anchor?
