Nearly new plasma cutter £120

I've had this for a few months, only used it once. It needs a bigger compressor than the little one I have, and I just don't need anything like that at the moment.

I found it quite tricky to use, but I expect that's more me than the machine, you need to hold it just off the surface, and you can't actually see the line or curve you are following because the torch head gets in the way. But anybody who is 'good with their hands' might get on a lot better.

I can't remember what I paid, there wasn't an equivalent model on ebay when I looked this evening but I have a feeling it was either a bit under or a bit over £200.

Anyway, if someone fancies it then it's £120 cash and carry.

I guess I could post it, but would prefer not to, the post office is some distance away and it's inconvenient for me to get there during their limited opening hours, so postage will be £15, insurance extra.

First U2U gets it.

I cut 3mm with it, but I don't know what the maximum is, there are various claims about on the internet.

It might depend more on the air pressure, all I can say is that it did what I asked it to, and I expect it would do a bit more.

Actually, thinking about it, I did cut a bit of 5mm with it, just to try it.

If anyone thought it might suit, the thing to do would be to bring a bit of whatever they wanted to cut and they could try it here

ive got one and it will do 5mm but with a bit of a rough cut,3mm is quite good but i made a guide bar to keep the torch perfectly upright while cutting straight lines as it gets a bit messy if you tilt the torch while cutting ,i have gone through 15mm round bar with it too. i think mine was around the £200 mark and i run a garage so its had a fair bit of use and has been reliable over the last 12 months

how big is your compressor now / how much do they need?

It's the size of the receiver that is important. Mine is only 50L, so runs out of air pretty quickly. It's still usable, but I found it necessary to stop before being able to finish a long (1 metre) cut.
