1800 Zetec *F/S*
Well, after a change of plans, the 1800 Zetec lump in the Orion I bought is up for grabs.
I believe it's the 115bhp version, but if you're planning to rip the injection system off and replace with carbs/tb's/etc., you can
put the 2.0l or Escort GTi cams in and hit the 130bhp mark. Plenty of info on here, as it's the easiest and most common mod!
Engine is currently in the car still, and as such can be heard running. I haven't got the V5 for the car as it was sold without, and I'm
currently in contact with the DVLA (not holding my breath) to try and get it. I can tell you though that it's come from an L reg (1993) Ford
Orion [age can be verified from the engine code], with circa 85k on the clock.
I drove it back from North Norfolk a couple of weeks ago, and it ran fine all the way home (Essex) with no smoke or issues apart from a slightly
temperamental fuel sender. Since then, the clocks and indicators (plus relay/loom for them) have been removed for another project for someone on
here, but everything else is still there. I've got pictures of the clocks in the vehicle prior to removal to prove the mileage. Unsure if
it's an EDIS based system, but full running gear available with the purchase.
Think £100? Does that sound reasonable to people? Can negotiate around removal of engine and would have to be collection ideally, due to size/weight
etc.

The ecu may be worth a few bob on flea bay if its a 115ps as it should be pre pats and will run the engine just by wiring up a few lives and
earths.
one I wired earlier
They are a bit hit and miss and go for £10~£60
edit
It would only have an edis 4 if it was an automatic. If it was it will need a manual Crank position housing to run with a manual box.

Mine was a 130ps, pre-PATS ECU, it sold for £2.20 a week ago...
In better news, the manifold sold for £52, so my £40 engine cost me -£15

Checked last night, and it has got an EDIS module. And it's a manual. And the water pump faces the exhaust side of the block as well, so no
need to change for kit car fitting!
Will give it a week, then think it'll end up on fleabay.

Its only the pump on the 2.0 that needs swaping for the 1.8. Its because it spins the wrong way not that it faces the wrong way.
Ford had a habit of using what ever bits that came to hand. I have heard of manuals with edis but never seen one and having recycled upwards of 60
edis 4's ive seen a few
Good look with the sale. Sounds like the car came from not far from me.

Will the Zetec fit the type9 box, or does it need another type? I am looking to change to a different engine from the 1.6 Pinto I currently have.
Also, will it fit a similar space that I have envisioned for the Pinto (in a McSorley +442)
Excuse my ignorance
P.S. why the change of plan (if U don't mind me asking)

yes it will bolt direct to the t9. Lots of ways to do the clutch if you do a search.
The zetec may be touch taller. The big pain in the arse is the inlet and exhaust are opposite.

I've currently got a Zetec if my GTS W7DE wide body (think it's the same as the McSorley +442 plans) with a Type 9 gearbox, but bought the
Orion for the engine. My plan was to do a full rebuild and mod the engine (1mm overbore, new rings, head work etc.) over coming months to try and
squeeze more power out of it whilst still being able to use my car. That way, I could just change the blocks around when the time came.
However, being a Vauxhall man of past, I've come into posession of an old redtop engine (have rebuilt plenty of these in the past) and have
decided to return to my roots and switch at some point in the future. So now the Orion engine is surplus to requirements.
I paid £175 for the car less than 6 weeks ago, so I don't think £100 is unreasonable to ask. Considering you've got full access to the
motor, you can pretty much take what you want off it. I know some people use the seats as well, but for the asking price of a ton, I'm prepared
to let you take anything you wish at the same time. I'm only trying to recover some of the costs - could be a bargain for someone!

No takers? £100 for the whole car, full running engine, you'd be able to drive it away if it had T&T!
Complete with EDIS module, I believe it's the 115bhp model with pre-PATS ECU, and 1993 lump so no need for CAT test at IVA.
Open to some negotiation, but just trying to get back some of what I paid for it recently. Truth be told, you could weigh the car in afterwards and
get almost half your money back instantly, meaning the engine will only have cost you £50!
If no takers by Friday it'll be going on the 'bay, just thought I'd open it to locosters first. WIll need trailer to take away, or
small van/larger car if you just want the engine (can be removed if necessary, but still in car if buyer wants to see/hear it running).
