MK Indy 2.1 pinto sadly forsale
always swore i'd only do this if my life depended on it but it's just not making sense for me to keep it parked up anymore. i just
can't afford to run 4 cars and pay a mortgage and a wedding next year so something has to go
Mk Indy 2.1 pinto in BRG
kit purchased 2003 built up and sva'd september 2005, covered roughly 900 miles from new.
really don't know where to start as i never thought i'd be writing this and it's hardly a normal car to sell!
main body is british racing green with black MK aeroscreen, ford zinc yellow roll bar and cycle wings
has perfect condition oz super leggera 15" alloys with excellent hankook tyres only covered around 400 miles
interior is full mk interior panel set with mk black grp seats with padded inserts. carbon effect dashboard with full VDO clock set (fully calibrated
speedo, rev counter, volt, water temp and oil pressure gauges as well as a fuel gauge althoug i think this needs a new sender as it's never
worked but has never been a problem as i just fill up around every 100 miles and i know i'll never be caught short then!
sabelt 4 point harnesses are fitted as well as a 300mm OMP quick release steering wheel and racetech mirrors.
all brake and fuel lines were new at time of build. reconditioned brake calipers were fitted along with new pads and discs to the front. new brake
linings were fitted to the rear and i also have a spare set of front discs, rear drums and i think a set of brake shoes somewhere in the garage!
the engine was freshly rebuilt by myself (fully qualified mechanic) at time of build, bottom end was treated to a clean up and new bearing shells
fitted all round and obviously rebored to 2.1 using new pistons. the head i had was cracked but a guy working for the engineering firm i was using had
a stage 1 head sitting around with a kent rl31 cam fitted which they then overhauled for me inc converting it for unleaded before i built it all back
up.
gearbox is standard type 9 which feels nice and responsive with no whines or funnyness going on!
currently has a 3.92:1 diff fitted, there's also a spare of the same ratio and a spare 3.62:1 to go with it. also have various spare drive
shafts etc.
fueling is taken care of by a webber dgav twin choke carb which has recently been overhauled and set up by leicester carb center. fuel is contained by
a roughly 25 litre alloy tank.
really don't know what else to say about it but if there's anything else then please ask me.
pictures obviously taken before cycle wings were transformed to the new colour but as i've not actually driven the car sinse i had them done
(november!) i've not had chance for new pictures. if anyone is really interested though i will get some.
price is £5800 ono which is really what it's cost me over the years to get it to how it is now. just don't expect me to stand waving as
you drive off in it if you do buy, i'll be out the back kicking myself too hard for that.
built a car, built a home, had a family. lost the family, lost the home, still got the car.
