893cc blade package.........
Still in car can be heard running/driven.
Included in package.........
893 cc blade engine, superb runner always on the button, I'm sure some on here will vouch for its capabilities, lets just say its no slouch.
Mounts, will need lugs ect welding to your chassis.
Prop adapter, think I will be keeping prop.
All electrics required to get it up n running, engine loom, regulator, brain. I will be taking a few sensors out, water temp, oil pressure and temp as
they suit my digidash.
Fuel pump.
Carbs, airbox, exhaust manifold, 4 into 1 equal length plus silencer, this was all set up and matched on dyno jetted to suit so no messing about
getting her running sweet, she already does.
Uprated clutch.
Think that's about it, pretty much everything you need with exception of prop & gear linkage.
Ideal for conversion or new build as its pre 95 for emissions, (engine numbers intact)
Dyno sheet available that would make a few R1 runners weep.
Looking for offers around the £850 mark for the whole package, will be available around end of July so no rush as I don't want to take it out
till we have had a bit more sun......
Happy for buyer to assist with removal as it will probably help your install.

Unless its had head work / cams that you haven't mentioned I don't see how it could make R1 owners weep? Weep is a bit of a strong word
as it suggests surpassing the power of an R1 by some margin which would be quite an impressive state of tune for an early blade.

Well I don't know about weep, but for someone looking to simply bolt in an engine and for it to work straight away, and thats work with genuine
158.9 Dyno'd horsepower, so I think it would definitely beat more than it's fair share of R1's, so it would be an excellent buy!

Close Steve but you have quoted a slightly over optimistic figure, its actually 158.7 with 132.3 at the wheels @ 11778 rpm.
Sorry if the R1 quote offends, it was never intended to, it was just my misguided way of saying its pretty potent as blades go.

Not that stunning really, under 30bhp up on standard, the R1 quote was just a throw away comment and never intended to start any sort of ones better
than other debate, its still in car so can be driven, the 158.7 figure was with a race can on, the current set up is 125 @ wheels but that's
with a track day friendly can fitted, its more drivable though in its current state with better low down power rather than out n out top end power.
What am I replacing it with ? Something with a bit more power......

I just thought an early standard blade is more like 130bhp (at engine not wheels even when dynojetted and well setup) so surprised you've netted
almost an extra 30bhp if its a standard engine.
Looking at something like:

If its not then surely you should point it out as its worth more.
I suppose rolling road figures do vary.
So what are you going to replace it with more interestingly!
Good point about no CAT required - very desirable.

Thats the one, of course dynos can differ but for example Tim C commented at Mallory how well it pulled compared to the 919 blade engined car he was
sharing with Stevie boy Worx.
I believe the price to be fair, it cost much more but it does have 8k miles under its belt now, shows absolutely no signs of needing a look at, loads
a oil pressure, never been boiled, does not breath (not a drop in bottle after 6 hour Mallory event) and as always been treated to plenty of nice
fresh oil on a regular basis.
As above, its still in car, can be listened to and driven and will run straight out of the box once installed due to coming with matched and set up
inlet and exhaust system, the exhaust for example was set up on dyno sliding the silencer closer or further away for example from the collector to
find the optimum position, (length of joining pipe) you could see a 6bhp swing doing this, it welded the right side of the 6bhp swing. BTW removing
the silencers/cans altogether killed HP. (and your ears)

My impression is the exact same. My next engine was a 919 and the engine you are now selling pulled more than that one did.

I guess it's probably more the fact that the engine used to be the greatest choice when you bought it, but with time it's being the R1
taking that place (new ones are about 180 bhp or something?). That said, I think your engine is at least as good as many R1 engines out there
(specially the early ones) and so a great deal.

Well it gets even better for whoever purchases it as I will be chucking in a live axle (currently in car) so it has the right diff ratio and all
brackets on for 5 linking plus shock mounts, 2 spare 1/2 shafts and two brand new sets of rear brake shoes (bought em when I saw then as they are
getting rare) oh, may as well have the handbrake cable to.
So tell where are you gonna get a complete package sva emissions friendly that will need no setting up to run for well under a Grand ?

I remember that diff ratio was just perfect for that particular engine actually, its top speed limit (from bhp against drag) was about top rpms in
6th. And the rear suspension axle is a Cortina if I remember well, so very light compared to Escort or Sierra but still good for the torque. If that
was my car (again ) now, I'd probably choose a smaller rim, probably 14", diameter in order to get more tyre profile with the same
wheel diameter, but that's my choice.
