** Sold **Raw Striker 919cc Blade £7500 Championship Winner
Car located in N Ireland
Championship Winner in '08
I bought this car in July 2007 as a road/track car, with the aim of racing it.. The basic spec was;
Live axle with Drum brakes
SPA rev counter with shift lights and speedo built in
Separate water temp guage
Quick rack
Full Striker roll cage
Twin master cylinder brake set up with remote brake bias adjustment (in dash)
30L aluminium fuel tank
M16 calipers/solid disks on front
Ford RS Alloys - 6" front and rear
Master Battery cut off switch
I took it to Andy (AB Performance) to get general race prep and the following fitted;
AB Performance Air Box
Dyno jet kit & set up
AB Performance Paddle Shift Gear change Kit and cable
AB Performance Baffle Sump
AB Performance Ducted Nose Cone
Upgraded Barnett Clutch springs
New front 'crash box' - rad mounted on aluminium floor to help minimise damage in a front end crash
New Polo Rad and high spec race fan fitted
Samco hoses, all re routed and new aluminium header tank
New lifeline extinguisher with twin nozzle plubed in with necessary cables for driver and marshall's
Upgraded Rectifier (known weak point of Blades)
I had the car out approx 4 times following this in 2007 including my first two race meetings (last two race meets of the year) and got 4th in both
races
Over the winter I added the following;
Quaife ATB Limited Slip Diff
AB Performance Supplied 919cc engine
AB Performance Supplied hand made stainless Exhausts manifold & titanium silencer
New carb's with Dyno jet kit - fully rebuilt
FIA Rain light
New gearchange bracket and adapter (AB Performance)
New 5 point harness Kit - Drivers only
New rear guard protectors
Fresh set up/corner weight for new season
This year I have continuously developed the car after every race meeting to improve handling - engine has remained totally std, various spring rate
and shocks have been tested along with lots of track time/development to increase overall grip/corner speed with the help of renowned race engineer
Mike Johnstone. Throughout the year I have added the following;
Quantum Shocks to front end (hand built to specification)
Avo rear shocks - valved to suit
Front Anti roll bar - 4 way adjustable
Striker Half Doors
Fully rebuilt rear end - rose jointed and ALL new trailing arms, drop links & panard rod gussetted axle for trailing arm links
Front end rebuilt with new bushes/bolts
Longacre rear view mirror
Braided rear brake lines installed - prevent common issue of cracked lines on live axle cars
This car is currently winning the 500 Club Roadsports class C championship (same as RGB class C without reverse requirement) with 4 wins, one second
place, and numerous fastest laps and pole positions.. It also won its class in a sprint in July (first sprint entered) and 9th overall on the day. The
car has been maintained to a high standard, oil changed every 2 races (races not race meetings) and genuine Honda filters used. Everything works as it
should including the gearbox & clutch (new complete clutch assembly in July inc drum, plates, frictions, springs & bolts!!)
The car will be available as raced after the final round of the championship on 27th September complete with purpose built galvanised trailer and 4
spare wheels - complete package for racing, track days and road registered !!
If needed I will give set up advise for anyone planning to race the car - in terms of spring rates, ride heights etc etc etc….
Car only being sold to move on to a different challenge in '09, if it doesn't sell I will happily race it again as is next year.. This is
not a tired race car with multiple seasons of abuse - I bought as a fresh road/track car - and have competed in 7 races this year, on the button and
ready to win :-)
Price £8,500 with spare wheels and trailer - all ready to race & win...

yea she has had a few quid spent on her  been a great car for me... will race next year again if she doesn't sell... but have my eye on
something different if she does..
you not fancy a bash at RGB racing  ??

just competed in a sprint today - 1st in class, 13th overall in very wet conditions... I was 1st car overall competing on road tyres...
Car is now finished competing in '08 - ready to go

i can reduce the spec of this car to make a fair bit cheaper guys ???
will consider decent offers on the car alone without trailer etc too..

not really mate - i'd like to give the buyer of the car first call on it - as its pretty much made for the striker..
depending on what car you have it may be no use anyway - the striker is snug on it - and its probably one of the snaller sevens out there.......

ok thanks anyway, it just looks perfectly what i had in mind. As you say, may well be too small anyway. Mines an aries motorsport/stuart taylor
chassis.
well if you get a buyer who doesnt need a trailer, keep me in mind.

I can deliver this at minimal cost to UK mainland on Fri 28th Nov - If the distance cost is a factor...
you can also get cheap flight from most major UK airports to within 30 mins of me (i can collect etc) if the car is not as described I will refund
the flight costs

Hi Mark
Have you tried the 750MC classifeds. Cant remember if yours was legible for the RGB championship or not but easily converted if not. Mght catch some
one looking for an RGB car on there maybe.
Ps it is a bargain at that price.

yea have it on the RGB site too - as its eligble that side too (just needs reverse - easily sorted)
just a quiet time of year i guess..... and yes considering what i've spent on it it certainly is a bargain  problem is people just look at
price alone - and you see 'BECs' for 2-3k less than this... but as you know thats peanuts to get a competitive car sorted..
Ho hum.............
