FS: Laguna for spares or repair
Afternoon all!
One of my colleagues is selling his car as a spares or repair job.
It's a 52 plate Laguna Estate initiale model (fully loaded with all the toys - leather, sat nav, big stereo setup etc.)
It blew it's turbo a few months ago and he doesn't have the time to sort it - probably just needs a new turbo, but would need to check
engine over to be sure. He's took a company car now, so this is siting gathering dust on his drive looking for a good home - everything on the
car is in good nick with the exception of the turbo problems.
Thought I'd post it on here on the off chance someone might be interested.

I'll double check with him on what he wants cash wise, but, for once, it's blue not green (quite a nice dark blue too).
Forgot to say before it's a 1.9 tdi.
I do know price wise he's been quoted £2500 by a garage to fit a new engine, turbo and gearbox and he deemed it not worthwhile. It definately
doesn't need the gearbox and the engine is probably OK (but would definately need checking to be sure)

The car's worth about a quid.
All the lagunas 1.9Tds have problem with cooling the turbo till it goes bang.
You need to change the engine, turbo, intercooler, hoses, and the list keeps going on to sort something that in a couple of years time will go
again.
Unfortuntelly, as soon as the turbo goes, pieces will go through the hoses to the intercooler to the engine. If you change the engine and don't
replace all the rest, any small pieces that might be left in the loop might go back to the engine and there goes your new engine again.
Strip it down and sell the pieces. Will fetch more money.
Saying all these as i am member in Renault forums and seen and read about it very very often.
