Race Car Transporter - Properly LoCost

Hi All

This is my Talbot Pullman minibus - converted by a previous owner to carry a LoCost around.

Some of you may well recognise it, as the car it used to carry raced in the LoCost and 750MC championships I believe

I've used it for the last 3 seasons to carry a Sylva Striker around to sprints & hillclimbs all over the country.

There are lots more photo's in my archive.

Now for the bad bits..
MOT failed in a fairly comprehensive way..

The Chassis to body mounts are corroded and need replacing to pass the test - this is a significant amount of welding, and need lots of time, and some talent I suspect to fix - but probably little money?

In addition the rear brakes are binding - but seem OK to me, though it had been stood for a month before the test - possibly just needs a bit of use?

Front wheel bearing, ball joint, couple of bulbs, speedo drive failed (angle drive @ speedo end) and an indicator lens rqd

So in Summation: - Needs somebody with a lot of time and a smallish bit of money to sort out.

If you're still here we'll move on to the good bits!

New front brake calipers and driveshafts a year ago, new starter motor, good battery, it starts, runs and stops!

It's not fast - normally aspirated 2.5 Diesel, but gets you there eventually ( I normally cruise at 56mph behind a truck!)

Got around 175k on it I think, had an easy life for at least the last 6 years and always got me to where i've been going and back again, Insured and a few months Tax.

The really important stuff:-

Takes a Sylva Striker in the back as is, the previous owner used to remove the nose cone of his locost when putting that in - But i've modified the internal bulkhead so will probably all go in complete, and will certainly take a formula ford (or other single seater) as used it for one of them too.

Back door to bulkead is 10' 3" plus hole for nose cone.
Rear door width 6'

Seating for 5 if you're friendly (drivers seat and bench seats for 4).
Bench seats convert to double bed (if you're not too tall!) or v.comfy single.

Plenty of storage.

Mains hook up.

Blinds fitted etc etc

Now this is going on the bay of E, just after the New Year staring at nowt with no reserve. I've got a 'new to me' van sat here and this is now in the way - so you have first dibs at it.

It's available for viewing any day bar the 25th! and a suitably small offer will see the Ebay bit binned - or come and have a look and wait until it goes on if you like!

I'll work with the new owner to help them collect it /deliver it to them for a train ticket etc.

Hi

Further to a PM or two.

Price is - What's it worth to you?
Honestly would rather it went to a good home than to somebody who's going to break it.
Cover the 3 months on the tax disc and it's yours..
