FS: my fleet due to impending redundancy.
Hi All
I’m afraid that the recession has hit hard and my employer has gone into
administration.
I will be surprised if those remaining from my team (was 110 now 52) and I are still there in four weeks time,
As a result I need to sell my own little slice of what I see as driving nirvana: my MNR Vortx RT+ and my Alpina B10 3.2.
The MNR track/sprint car first. It’s the fully rosejointed version with a next-to-new 5JJ Yamaha R1 engine.
:(
The full spec is as follows:
- Full RT Inboard Plus Kit
- Special Cage And Black Dash
- Special Fittings For Kliktronic Shifter
- Bias Pedal Box Assembly
- Ceramic Coated Stainless Exhaust Manifold
- Stainless Silencer
- New Balanced/Warranted Propshaft
- Pipercross Air Filter
- Special Fittings For Kliktronic Shifter
- Engine (5JJ R1 <1000Miles)
- Custom Lightweight Loom
- Custom Control Cables
- Kiktronic Shifter
- Intatrim Drivers Seat
- MNR GRP Passenger Seat
- Sparco Steering Wheel With Buttons For Changing Gear
- Veypor VR2 Dash
- SPA Oil Press/Water Temp Gauge
- TRS FIA 3" Harness
- Custom Rear Boot Cover
- 13X6" Black/Polished Minotaur Wheels
- Slick Tyres
- Carbon CSR Arches
- Carbon Wing Protectors
- Carbon Canards
- Carbon Back Panel
- Procomp Wingstays
- Silicon Hoses & Aluminium Pipework Throughout
- Aluminium Catch Tank
- 3.62 LSD
- Raceleda Brake Discs
- Reconditioned Cortina Uprights And Hubs
- Reconditioned M16 Calipers
- Stanless Braided Brake Lines
- Brake Line Lock
- FIA One Way Fuel Valve And Hose Tails
- Custom Gulf / Race Style Decals
Ironically, due to work comitments, I’ve never completed the car and the following is outstanding:
- Earth Strap from starter to chassis.
- Suspension set-up and all tightened up (all finger loose at present. Fit correct length bolts as required.
- Fit steering rack boots - grease.
- Clean floor and run a bead of sealant around tubes to stop water ingress. (optional)
- Finish fitting boot cover.
- Refit seats and harness.
- Fix water leak on cooling system.
- Fit new o-ring to fuel filler cap.
- Run overflow pipe through top of footwell and floor. (Drill, p-clip, grommets.)
- Secure bottom water pipes to chassis.
- Tighten rear hub nuts.
- Refit pedals and adjust to suit (including clutch arm at engine end.)
- Fit missing split pin on rear caliper.
- Refit preload securing clips to diff (have been painted)
- P-clip braided brake hoses to chassis. O/S front and O/S and N/S rear.
- Tighten brake hoses, fill and bleed.
- Tighten Master Switch and bolt down scuttle.
- Trim glassfibre inside nose around rad overflow.
- Replace cracked front cycle wing. (bought & ready to fit)
- Apply remaining Gulf/Race style decals.
All of the parts required are included with the exception of the earth strap.
This car has cost me in excess of £11,000 in parts and is obviously unused.
I’m looking for just £6500.
Next is my tin-top. I was promoted in Novemeber so treated myself to a car I’ve always lusted after.
Alpina
The spec is as follows:
- 1998 Alpina B10 3.2 Manual
- Individual Estoril Blue Metallic
- 77,000 miles
- BMW FSH
- 11 month’s MOT
- 6 month’s Tax
- Outstanding condition
- 18” Alpina Classics
- Grey Leather Interior
- Hand-built development of M3 3.0 Engine delivering 260BHP
- 6 Disc CD Changer
- Trip Computer
- In – Car phone
- Alpina Private Plate (which I paid extra for)
- One of 192 in the world
I’m looking for £8000 including the cherished plate.
I’m open to offers, particularly if someone shares my taste and wants both cars.
But please, no silly offers – I’ve been kicked in the balls enough.
FORGOT TO MENTION: Will happily accept a reliable part-ex to value of £1000.
Thanks

Hi Tim, so sorry to hear that you've had to resort to selling both, absolutely gutted for you
Good luck with the sales though, both look like cracking cars. FWIW having just sold both a BEC and a tintop, I found Pistonheads to be the best place
to drum up interest but no doubt you've already put ads over there too. Also Bookatrack is worth a punt, there was a chap on there who was
interested in mine as a trackday only toy so yours should fit the bill. I'll see if I can dig out his details.

Tim
I'd seen the news about the company but wasn't sure if you'd been affected.
I know it's tough now but you're well qualified and young!
Hope it all works out for you.

sorry to hear about your situation. shame you are selling your beloveds. The MNR looks amazing and at that price, should be sold quite quickly.
Out of curiosity, do sprint/hill climb cars get built to SVA rules? i.e. do they get used on the roads or just for their main purpose.
We gain knowledge faster than we do wisdom!
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in
sideways, thoroughly used, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming... "f*ck, what a trip!"
