Generator Wanted

Chaps & Chappettes - I'm looking to acquire a generator so I can use tools in my unpowered garage, mainly grinder etc. Anyone know much about generators and what I'll need?

I've checked ebay and come across some new ones at around £75 but am always a bit nervous of buying the cheapest of anything.

Advice welcomed

Mark

I bought one off ebay for £99, got last summer out of it, Over the winter it didn't like sitting being unused. Starts now, but as soon as you plug anything in it cuts out.

Almost throwaway at those prices.

I bought mine for £39 2 years ago. Had it running for 48 hours when we had power cuts last winter to keep the central heating running. Use it to power 650w hedgecutter at the other end of garden (I live in the sticks)

Only thing is chinese spark plug gave up the ghost when I pulled it out this spring!

Cheap 2 stroke but it idles no problem - loads about all different names look identical

Forgot to say I let it run dry before storing it or the petrol evaporates in the carb as all 2 strokes do and they will not run evenly!
