New V8 engine(s) anybody?

I seem to have accumulated too many engines..... time to rationalise.

I have 4 Northstar engines. These are a quod cam V8 and are very sophisticated by USA standards. They are a bit like 2 redtops joined together.

I have 2 unused 4.0L engines. Both were supplied to Carol Shelby (yes that one) for use in his Shelby Mk1 sports car production. He went bust and they were auctioned off. I have 1 that was modified by Shelby in that he changed the cams to give 325bhp. That engine is complete with loom ecu modified air filter air con etc etc. It has a bellhousing for rwd through a torque tube (corvette?). It has a mounting on the front to take inboard suspension - complete with rocker arms - google shelby Mk 1.

I have another engine as supplied by GM to shelby. About 275 BHP as standard. That has no ancillaries. That engine is stripped to a short block (not completely heads untouched)- I could put it back together.

Next I have a 4.6L engine. Stripped completely - some photos in my archive. That engine has been bench run only it was supplied by GM for educational purposes only - I took it to bits and that was very educational. I have picked up some forged pistons for that engine and was intending to use some Carrillo rods having modified the crank and rods (not hard).

Last I have a beast! 4.6L block - but sleeved with Darton Sleaves to 3.7". It has a stroked crank 0.2" and so will be about 4.9L. Gas flowed heads with full report sheets. Crower Cams and solid tappets. No pistons as yet. New Carrillo rods that suit crank bot need narrowing. This engine would be a handful on the road.

I have 2 dry sumps and 2 wet sumps.

The modified and complete Shelby engine has a manual Flywheel.

I have a custom bellhousing to fit a ZF transaxle for mid engine use - there is a modern Quaife equivalent - neither are cheap!

I also have an adaptor plate to fit a Porsche G50 box.

These engines were designed to be FWD and are very compact. They are very popular as a swop in Fiero circles and are often used in Sandrails.

I do not wish to sell all of these but just enough to make room for the full race IRL engine that I found I really really needed.........

I would be thinking of £1100 for the simple 4.0L as is. The complete 4.0L £1800. No idea about the others.

Probably not for the mechanically inept .
