FS: Locost 2.1 Pinto
I am selling my Locost Kitcar as since finishing its rebuild I havent used it anything like as much as I should have. I bought it September 2008 as a
part rebuilt project. The rebuild included an engine change (CVH Pinto), new suspension, new brakes, new LSD, new interior, complete rewire and
various bits of bodywork. The V5 has been updated with the new engine size. The car was built and SVAd in 2001, it is on a Q plate and due to the
age of engine only needs a visible smoke test at MoT time.
The MoT runs to May 2011 and the tax to the end of April 2011. The car has 2 previous owners, the original builder and one other who drove it briefly
before starting the rebuild. I have a file full of receipts and instructions, and loads of photos, the megajolt maps etc. which I will put on DVD.

Thanks Coozer,
Yes I made the cover myself, I was going to do a tonneau but didnt think I'd do a good job around the high-back seats. It's 4mm neoprene
from eBay (search wetsuit neoprene, not neoprene rubber, I made that mistake!) but 2.5 or 3mm would probably be fine as well.
I cut it roughly to size -15% to allow for stretch, then sewed the edges on a sewing machine. I eventually found that it worked best using a fairly
high foot pressure, with a low-medium thread tension, a needle designed for sewing jeans and nylon thread.
The front and rear attachments are on loops of webbing, and poppers on the sides are straight through the neoprene. The webbing is hand sewn as the
sewing machine wasnt man enough to do neoprene and webbing...
I'm fairly pleased with it and it certainly does the job. I think size - 10% would have been fine though, and I should have planned better what
to do at the back as it still has corners which I just tuck under the cover, if they were removed then It would be difficult to get it to seal against
the boot top.
Hope that's some use.
