What to Use? - Bonding Fibreglass to Metal.

Hi All,

I've just bought some fibre-glass door skins to use on my project and I need to bond and rivet them to the original door frames.

Can anyone suggest a good adhesive that I can use for this.

Sikaflex has been recommended to me but does anyone know of anything else that will do the job?

Thanks for the advice.

Cheers

Martin

Tiger Seal.
The same as sikaflex but easier to get and cheaper.

Thanks!

Use that at work so should have known..........................................

Should the bare metal be etch primed first or stick the adhesive straight on?

Thanks again.

Key it well with a coarse grit paper, then degrease with acetone or celulose thinners. Should then give a really good bond. HTH Ray

And don't use tigerseal at -4, even after I tried warming it up it was too thick to use and broke my sealant gun.
