FS Horizontal Mill

Hello Chaps,

Moving house so my old imperial mill is up for sale.

Great for shortening sumps, grinding fish mouths into tubes etc.

Milling machine
Milling machine

It's heavy, will break down into parts and fitted inside my range rover.

On Ebay, starting at £100, here's the number 221050279738

For Locost builders £200 secures it, for £300 I will throw in a 1.5HP single to 3 phase convertor.

Located in Wadhurst, East Sussex.

Cheers Mark

That looks like a Tom Senior, if so £200 is way cheap......someone buy it quick, i would if it was not so far away, mine is vertical only, the horizontal arm is missing

You can get a vertical head for them which swivels through 360 degrees, making them a very versatile and sought after little mill.

Good luck with the sale Mark, doubt it will hang around long at that price.

Thanks Wadders

It does have the mountings for a vertical head, I should have made a note of the makers name at the time 'Tom Senior' rings a bell, it looks exactly like this except mine does not have the oil level on the horizontal slide.

Tom Senior major

It is a very well made tool, what you cannot see in my picture is the power drive for the table slide so once set up you just leave for a few minutes as it makes its way across the work (slowly because of motor speed).

It has a standard morse taper so if you purchase the collets and holders and a right angle plate you could mill aka a vertical tool. I have just used to flatten things.

If you have a google steam train model makers love them! I purchased this from one of them Do not let 'model' put you off, it is over 5' tall so a proper bit of kit, on ebay they start at £1k for a nice shiny one, a few hours with a scrapper and wire wool would improve this one.

Regards Mark
