whats the difference between this type and the little square ones they do?

and is this one a silver top or red top?

No Idea, Bought it ages ago cos it looked as new and was shiney.
Never used it.
someone on here will know what it is I am sure.

Can't tell whether it's a red, silver or whatever but tis is an interrupter type pump which has a relaceable filter inside. The solid state facet pumps have no filter.

lickle square one can and should have a filter connected prior to the pump, like this:


The cylindrical ones have a nylon mesh built in - unscrewing the top gives access to it.

The cube ones - aka solid state - have a solenoid with a ball that acts as the pump - but the cylindrical ones have another mechanism - not sure what it is.
