project for sale

ive decided to sell the project i was working on. It started as a locost chassis with a full cage, i chopped front and back off, mounted a bike engine, and modified the innards. I have run out of steam now it comes time to make a front and back end for it. Main reason is, im only happy with the bits ive done, all the rest doesnt fit the theme, as you'd probably expect with a hybrid like this. So its getting weighed in as scrap, unless someone makes an offer on it. Can go with or without the freelander diff and zx9 engine. I dont know if either work.

If theres no interest then it'll get scrapped, and the engine and diff fitted into something else!

Someone might want it to carry on (unlikely) or maybe just as the source for a cage.

Cheers!

No price cos its worth peanuts, best offer gets it.

My advice having been in a similar situation many years ago after a major feck up (nope it wasn’t a 7 or a JBA), would be to take the engine out and the diff if need be and put it aside, for now.

Don't scrap it, that is a bad idea.

Other option perhaps a better one would be to clean it up, by that I mean cut off the bits of tube sticking out, give it a scrub down and some primer (the rust alone is making me depressed). I'm not sure how you have went about planning this so far but I have the feeling that you have not got it as drawings or fully planned, get a copy of autocad, its free I'll show you where if you want. Draw what you have on that and then design the rest of the car. If you’re unsure of the frame or where to go from here as far as suspension ask on here, their nuts about that kind of thing, watch they’ll be falling over themselves with a hundred different answers

If you cleaned it, painted it and sat down and looked at where you are I sure you’ll find some new burst of enthusiasm and some fresh ideas.

Now go and have a beer

thats the thing, its not worth the effort tidying it up, since its essentially too heavy for a bec racecar. I could start afresh and get further in a week for less effort and money!

the chassis is 42" wide, it sits snugly on this with about 10mm spare each side. The max height over the top of the rear shock mount is 17", and the front part comes down just over 48" forward of the centerline of the rear tubes.
