Excellent time!! Even with so much traffic. Great video too!

Very Nice smooth driving there!
As an aside, is your paddle change cable or electric/pneaumatic ?
I'd love to get the paddles working that well on the MotaLeira!

sorens2 - 17/8/09 at 09:08 AM

Thanks guys.

Paddles are mech. via cable.
But itīs the quickshifter that does it.
It is brilliant and so fugging fast.
0.085 sec shifttime.

My longer cable (8ft long- rear engined) means that I have to pull my paddles back after each change. I have tried all of the rubber caps on the cable for drag.
I have thought of putting a spring on the R1 gearbox lever to help return it to centre.

Nice bit of driving, looks like you have got it set up well

Nice,

Good vid too - how had you hidden the camera? Looks like it would be pretty obvious hanging out the side...?

We're there from Fri to Sun this weekend. Taking the VFR this time, if there are any LB'ers there this weekend be good to see you and your cars.

When I drive onto the track I pull over and mount the camera on a homemade "snap-on" bracket that is attatched to the rollcage.
And when coming in again I cruise down the long straight while taking the camera off again.
It takes a little practice.

Good run - but you certainly had a 'moment' at 4:12 didn't you!

What sort of speed were you doing flat out in 6th gear?

[Edited on 17/8/09 by David Jenkins]

sorens2 - 17/8/09 at 07:25 PM

The incident @ 4:12 ish was a small mismatch between my thoughts of speed and the pure lack of traction when going down, round and locking wheels.

Doing 220 km/h @ rev. limiter in 6.
Could use a compressor and 100 bhp more.

220kph is roughly 136mph - very good, considering the aerodynamics of a 7-style car.

It's not a good track on which to have a thought/action mismatch is it! The Armco barrier is a bit hard...

sorens2 - 17/8/09 at 08:00 PM

Well......the car is easy to get back on track.

and also very expensive! Friend of a friend got stung for 4 grand for a length of damaged barrier

Another awesome video Soren.

The car looks to be spot on. I think it will be next year for me to drive the Nurby.

Paddles and Flatshifter look to work well.
