BEC Tyres for road use
Proby - 28/4/13 at 05:50 PM

I'm looking for a set of tyres to replace the 'ditch finders: on the f27. I was looking at 888's or a048r's. Am I going to get these upto temp enough on the road? Or would it be better off with r1r's? For reference, they are 195/50/15 and the car weighs circa 480kg.

Also, if r888' s are a better choice, where is cheapest to buy a set in UK?

Thanks all!

camskill no longer stock Toyo tyres iirc, or at least 888s...

I've just ordered myself a pair of R1Rs to try out (usually I'm avid 888 user)

Got my pair from JJC on eBay for £150 delivered for 195-50-15

I'd been on camskill and notices the 888's are not listed anymore. The only people I can find selling them are on ebay!

I use 048 softs on the road and I still break traction relatively easily with a 460kg car untill they have got a couple of miles on them, however after a bit of a run they are great.
