trying to get the Quaife reversing box out of my Phoenix. Only just bought the car. Does the front prop most likely be a sliding fit on to
sprocket/gearbox output shaft? I've rotated it and can't see any grub screws etc access to remove the prop from the sprocket flange is
tight, I'm hoping to take the whole lot rearwards out of the back or side of the tunnel,
advice appreciated
Phil
Front prop will be bolted to the sprocket/flange adaptor
I know that but I can't get at it easily. I got it sorted in the end, had to remove the front prop from the rev box, which was easier once the
box was pulled back, I couldn't get under to the bolts other wise as the top panel was rivetted on and it's under the dash, that's also
riveted on. Really who ever built this car should be shot!
in the end I cut a large hole in the ally of the tunnel and got the box out that way. It was either that or remove the engine and take it forwards!
and the cut a long story there was probably less than a serving spoon of oil in the box!
so next job is to strip it
