Hi all, looking into building myself a locost, now as i am in the very first stages of sorting what to build i was wondering if i dont build it for the road and just track days, what are the requierments for it to be used on tracks, are all tracks different on what the vehicles specs are, ie do they need to be taxed and tested, scrutinered in anyway?

I am not going into raceing as i know that is a bigger set up, but would be good to, you never know.

Thanks wayne

No need for tax, test etc if you stick it on a trailer.

No need for lights either, although brake and rear running lights are a good idea.

Some tracks demand a full cage if running slicks otherwise you really need as a minimum for yourself a braced roll bar so worth making one to MSA standards.

Needs to be quiet these days so a decent exhaust and baffled air filter (you get lots of induction noise).

Apart from that common sense, do not rag a car around a track that is unfit to be driven hard!
