Front anti-roll bar and rear suspension bushes

I've been out testing the car at it's limit and sometimes exceeding them.

For some time I've been going to fit a front anti roll bar to tame some of the oversteer. (Live axle)

Now after some testing I've realised that the rear 'polybushes' are giving and causing rear steer which compounds the problem.

Seems the panhard rod bush at one end is shot and the trailing arm bushes have softened. This is causing the axle to squirm around.

First real test was a straight line power take off followed by a quick change to second gear which caused car to 'rear' steer squirm. Most noticeable for once. This gave it all away and i was able to check it through.

The polybushes were very soft, so much so that they would fingernail mark. I'll have to source some hard ones of the correct size as i can't remember now where they came from.

Anyway, front anti roll bar.

I have a golf gti Mk1 anti roll bar with the ends cut off to shorten the arms.

Now I've tried the bar in position and I'm somewhat surprised at the lack of room to fit a bar, even a bent custom one. There doesn't appear to be much room for the arm to be flexed along a decent length.

Has anyone fitted one and do you have pictures ?
