2.0 duratec
flak monkey - 3/2/09 at 02:33 PM

My chances of finding one on here are slim, but its worth an ask before heading down the breakers.

Looking for a 2.0 duratec engine for a swap next winter (planning ahead...! )

Preferably the whole engine with all the anciliary bits too.

Can collect

Flak,

Back in my days of having a job (and therefore some money) I used to read this site a lot.

http://www.duratecperformance.co.uk/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=cfrm

Not been on there for a while but there used to be some pretty Duratec knowledgeable people on there.

Just had a quick look and top post is asking about supercharged Duratecs.

IIRC you can swop bits between 2.0 and 2.3 Duratecs so there may be a way of dropping compression using standard (ie. cheap) parts.

Hope that helps,
James

isnt a "duracell" engine going to blow apart if you super charge it ?

Raceline built a supercharged duratec which put out about 330 rwhp too.

I may not supercharge it anyway, will see how it goes....

Still looking, thought I'd found the perfect one on ebay last night which has been listed as a zetec, for zetec money, but turns out it was a 1.8

Local breakers are saying around £450+ VAT....

I'll keep my eyes open on ebay, though most seem well over priced!
