Anyone got an edis 4 module spare? Preferably with a plug and short bit of wire too...

Cheers,
David

Also 1st for ford @ Tilney St. Lawrence.

Flak,

You going to keep the EDIS 4 rather than fitting exta coil drivers to your MS?

I've been trying to decide on this myself. I like the idea of the 'limp-home mode' of having the EDIS 4 (and some have said the coil drivers are unreliable too) but I also like the idea of being more 'efficient' by not using the EDIS4!

Cheers,
James

My MS already has coil drivers built in, but I have heard that they havent been that reliable so I thought I would go the edis route as, like you say, it also gives you the benefit of limp home mode.

Depends on which ones you have David.
If you have the new bosch BIP units they are I'm told pretty indestructable. They have a built in thermal overload so if you get your dwell setting wrong they just overheat and the reset. I have them now but my original vb 921's were fried when i for some reason made the dwell to long.

Yep, mine are the VB's

Theres less to set up with the edis too isnt there?

Sorry I don't know. I was using the v/hall engine so never had access to the edis units. many folk do swear by it as it has a limp home mode which will get you back if the squirt side of it fails.

I presume this means the fuel mapping is as good as finished and you've now decided to go MSNS Extra

Its for the duratec when I get that far

Fuel mapping on the pinto is nearly complete though.
