I'm after some of the tubing like is on these, any idea what it is, and where I'd get it?

Cheers

Not in anyway full details but might be useful.

In one of the offices at work all the desk power socket blocks were supplied by wire covered in this stuff.

It was bigger than the stuff in that photo (at about 15mm) but I'm sure you can get different sizes.

So I'm guessing an electrical supplies/wholesaler place could help you.

ah-ha. got it.

Took a while, but found it here, not even remotely cheap, but it looks good.

you could try shower hose

big_wasa - 4/4/09 at 07:16 AM

Yep shower hose. Cheap and comes with a rubber coating.

and is about 3 times the diameter I want

omega 24 v6 - 4/4/09 at 08:27 AM

Here's what the stuff is called. Available in many diameters in steel and stainless steel. Any big electrical wholesalers will be able to get it for you BUT probabaly you'd need to take a whole roll/coil.
At least it lets you know what to search for.
the proper stuff

All our alarm door sensors at work are coverd with that stuff.

NS Dev - 4/4/09 at 09:30 AM

yep, electrical conduit, prob known as "stainless anaconda" at your local sparky supplies (which is probably CEF in leicester) but yep I doubt they will split a roll, and we don't have any at work as small as that

What about getting some of the black plastic and spraying it silver and lacquer it. Low cost solution.

What diameter (o/d and i/d) do you want, as mentioned above heavy duty alarm contacts are fitted with this but maximum length is about 350mm. Ill find some and measure for you.

I've got some 5mm i/d and some 8mm i/d

8mm ID is what I'm after, probably after two 12" lengths-ish

obviously, I'll pay well

How about a pint of beer (£3) + the postage?

U2U me your address if that's OK
