Fuel pressure regulator and guage

As above I am after an adjustable fuel pressure regulator with a guage suitable for fuel injected R1 BEC.

Anyone got any suggestions on what would be suitable.

Where are these fitted? in the feed line or return back to the tank? (never fitted one before.) The fuel rail has a regulator on it already.

what pressure do you need it to go to?

i've got a gauge but no regulator.

ps the gauge only goes to 16 to 18 psi so may not be good for FI.

I think the R1 runs at about 39 - 42psi

the ideal fuel pressure for an injection R1 is 42.6 psi, if you are going to run an adjustable fuel pressure regulator on the R1 throttle bodies you will have to remove the regulator and have an adaptor made to replace it . then run a fuel line to the F.P.R and then a return line to the tank

i have done this on my R1 TB's on my pinto, i will try and dig out a photo for you

I'm using one of those Ebay jobbies too. Adjustable, has a gauge and cheap....

Does it just bypass the original FPR on the end of the fuel rail?

Just so I have it right the fuel line will go from pump to FPR inlet - FPR outlet to inlet of fuel rail.
Bypassed FPR on fuel rail to tank.

no it doesn't by-pass the orig. FPR, it replaces it. you will see that the FPR on the TB's is actually screwed into the end of the fuel rail. i had to take the FPR off and take it to 'claretoo' so she could take measurements and make me an adapter on the lathe. As you take the FPR off there is a seal on the inlet of the FPR that needs to be replicated into the adapter and then have an 8mm outlet on the other end. you then run some fuel line to the Adjustable FPR and then a return line back to the tank

so it should run

tank - pre-pump filter - pump - high pressure filter - fuel rail with adapter at the end - Adjustable FPR - return pipe

Make Sense?

I've had to email the seller of the FPR's as someone has bought it hopefully they have some more.
