Sherpa Remote
Donners90 - 20/3/04 at 02:15 PM

I'm looking for a gear change remote mechanism originally fitted to a sherpa van with the LT77 box. I need it to replace the SD1 version which is too long for my chassis!!

If anyone has one lying around or knows where I might be able to find one please can you get in touch?

Many thanks

James

the sherpa remote is an old cobra replica builders trick, try some of the cobra sites.

I think they have a very active forum

Is a diesel sherpa fitted with an LT 77 box, may possibly know where to get one in the Cambridge area. Let me know , also some of the Jag gearboxes used an extension that would fit on to a SDi box, fitted one years ago on a Marcos . Rusty

Cheers Bob,

I know hotrodders use them as well but I hadn't thought about the Cobra lot. I'll try their forums.

Rusty,
As far as I can tell the Sherpa diesels were also fitteed with the LT77, and as such I would be interested in knowing where to get one. Regarding the Jag boxes, which models had the remotes that would fit the LT77, just so I know what to look out for?

Thank you both for your help
Cheers
James

James, from what I remember remote was from xj6 with something like a 2.8 lt engine , brought new from our local jag dealer because at the time unable to find used item, may be available now if you can find one, but believe manual jags fairly rare. Rusty
