WTD Sierra headlight and wiper stalks
Humbug - 4/10/09 at 01:21 PM

... the unit that goes on the right of the column with 2 stalks, one for sidelights+headlights, the other for wash-wiper. for 4 years I have had an aeroscreen and I cut off the wiper stalk but now I have a screen I need it again

I am not sure if there are 2 types (I know that the hazard switches are different on some). Mine has the following codes on it:

B517X
BGIIK665

It also has "90" stamped before the BG... probably means 1990

If you've got one lying around, please U2U or email me.

The circle on the pic shows where I cutoff the wash/wipe stalk.

Also, if anyone has a wiring diagram for this switch, i.e. what all the terminals do, I would be grateful too.

Cheers

Simon

do you need the hazard switch on?
ive got 2 from a mk 2 escort and 1 from a mk3.
all the wiring terms looks the same, the later ones switched to earth is the main difference i think.

John - on my car the hazard is separate - it is just the block which has two stalks on it: one for wipers and washer, the other for sidelights and headlights.

Are you going to Cowfold next week? If so, could you bring them along and I could look?

Cheers

intend to be there unless its raining,or i can post it,up to you

It's not desperately urgent as I haven't actually got any wipers yet, so if you can bring them I'll have a look. If for some reason one of us doesn't make it, we could use Postman Pat.

There a guy who sells alluminium stalks on ebay at times, you screw them in to the cut off ends and aradite they look a good bit of kit.
