I'm looking for a set of clocks/instruments for my car's winter update.
Ideally 80mm speedo and tacho, plus 52mm oil, water etc. Preferably black faced, but others considered. New or excellent condition.

Ah, I have a pair of black dials, speedo and tacho, but not as new I'm afraid

would an Acewell type look out of place, would be cheaper in the long run

I've bought some RMD gauges, made by the same folk who do smiths gauges, but a lot cheaper
get them from rally design, when i got mine, speedo was £80, all gauges illuminated (despite what you may read on here)

Check out ETB's advert in mags, mechanical speedo 80mm but wil prob change for electronic. £ 199 for all 5.
Mike.

I will be using an Acewell, they are working on a 8K RPM version for V8 users.
That plus:
- Oil Press
- Water temp
- Fuel level (somehow I wouldn“t like this one on the speedo/Tach)
- Volt meter.
For these four I“ll be using VDO white cockpit series.

What I like about Acewell is that they have six indicator ligths for the most used functions:
Turn, hazard, oil, high beam, neutral.
Regards
AA
PS: If they don“t come up with the 8K RPM version, I`ll be using: the ACE-2803-AB or the ACE2853-AB

some interesting replies, thanks guys. I did think about the acewell/ digi dash/ vapour etc type, but as I currently have a Capri 6 clock display mounted in the middle of my dash, I thought I would go for the individual gauges layout.
The tip about the RMD gauges sounds promising, I will give them a look.
I had a VDO set from ETB in my last kit, and must say that they (ETB) were a pleasure to deal with.
So thanks for all the info. I have something to get started on now.
Bob

here's my RMD speedo fitted in my scabby looking dash

got a LCD display that light up green, needle lights up red, and white round the outside and numbers i think, can't remember, its not wired up yet. i just tested it when i got it.

the gauge to the left of it is RMD too, the one on the right is a TIM gauge, used to fill the hole

I have just received the Speedo,
IT IS TINY!!!
But that“s OK by me, this will force me to use a smaller steering column so it doesn“t look out of place.
Another plus is that I may fit Oil pressure and Water temp gages behind the wheel.
Volts and Fuel will be outside.
eventually I“lll have a Layout to show.
In the meantime...
Planning, Dreaming, Saving,
I may not be able to get to work in the car by late January.

They will change it for electronic, if you give them a load more cash! Price difference between mechanical and electronic is substantial, almost £90 extra.
