wanted - small cheap but half decent spray gun
blakep82 - 11/2/10 at 02:04 PM

anyone got anything?

i got the one that comes with £20 air tool sets. got some decent results, but i need something with a smaller capacity for smaller jobs. 250ml cup for example. probably gravity fed

next spray job is to spray my axle, so i don't need a litre capacity

anyone got anything 2nd hand? about £10 perhaps?

Buy a normal gravity feed gun, they come with something like a 500ml cup but you can put as little or as much as you like in there and it all gets used. There are smaller touch up guns available on ebay for not a lot. Here's one for £9.99 + post.

perfect! thats the sort of thing i'm after!
i had a quick look earlier but didn't find much, and didn't want to spend £30 on a machine mart one

Indeed I have a cheapo gravity touch-up gun, think it was a tenner at a carshow. Reasonable quality, and handy for awkward areas. But I suspect at this end of the market they are all pretty similar. And at worst you only lose a tenner

exactly. and its for painting my axle, where i don't need a brilliant finish, and i don't want a suction gun, where you're stuck with paint in the bottle of the cup you can't get at. which, incidentally, is probably enough to paint the axle lol

if the finish is crap, then i won't use it for body work lol.

it might be used for my paint job. i don't know if an orange car with orange flames and green tips is a bad idea

I bought one a couple of years ago and it's been used for everything. I've sprayed wheels, panels components and the back of the door while setting up. I use cellulose and it gives a good enough finish to just cut and polish.

You can buy replacement cups for gravity get spray guns. I bet you could get a small capacity one off eBay for not much and put it on a gun that you like.

edit:

Something like this
