Old laptop memory - 100/133 sodimm?
Mr G - 11/2/10 at 05:05 PM

Anybody got any old laptop (sodimm) memory hanging about they don't need anymore?

I'm trying to upgrade the memory on an old laptop but one of the slots isn't working so i'm stuck with trying to get the largest available in one slot.

It's the old pc100/133 144pin sdram stuff.

Cheers

G

in my experience you have to get exactly the right memory for laptops.

try crucial.co.uk

What capacity do you want?

I'll have some I can mail to you.

I'll list what I have in the morrow when I can have a lookington!

Thanks for the reply, as I only have one working slot its the bigger the better. Upgrading from 98 to xp hasn't helped as its a memory hungry beast

Mr G - Looks like I only have DDR1 available. Had two laptops both with PC100 and they've been robbed of their RAM already!

Will carry on looking though - Might have some more machines tucked away!

Ah ha!

I've a 256mb Infineon PC100 and a 64mb too. Have been pulled from a working PIII 600 Mhz Compaq.

Happy to pop these in the post if they'll help?

All the best

That would be fantastic sir If I can get this laptop running reasonably well I can use it in the garage Just the 256mb would be ideal! I'll fire over a u2u.

Cheers
