Fuel Pump
bbwales - 22/4/10 at 02:57 PM

Hi all,

Does anyone have a mechanical fuel pump for a 1600 xflow. My next door neighbour decided to put his air line on the fuel pipe to clean it and has pierced his diaphragm. The engine is in a Crayford Convertible MK2 Cortina and my neighbour does lots of classic shows and will be lost without the car. He is 77 btw and still a petrol head.

Beer tokens waiting.

Regards

Bob

If it is the type of pump held together with 6 screws see ebay item 200455987831

Easy enough to fit pump dosen't even have to taken off the car --- however if the one way valves are staked in not held in by a clip with screws then it is best not to change the valves.

Thanks for that, I will have a look at it later and see if the valves can be changed.

Bob - is there any chance you could ask your neighbour to measure the diameter, ideally internal, of the flexible rubber bit of his fuel filler if it looks anything like this - I have a 2 5/8" or 67mm metal pipe on my fuel filled petrol tank and cant find any pipe anywhere? if it matches i can order the part from the classic sites.

No worries if it causes the guy too much trouble - just a long shot.

Thanks
