Hi all, as stated above i am looking for a gas bottle to connect up to my Mig welder, bought it off Ash G but didn't come with the bottle, they come up on ebay but they never seem to be local whaich is always the sodding way!
Can anyone help?

Depends on what you want.

If its just CO2, then try your local beer supplier.

Got a local gas supplier and he is very reasonable but based on the amount i will use it its not worth renting a bottle because it will put the overall cost right up.
I hear that using a CO2/Argon mix is the best option for newbie welders so thats what i'll be avin.

I get my gas from my local motor factors, first bottle i had to give a deposit, then i just return the empty and get a replacement. Nice and handy, its only the half size bottle, about 2 ft high, more than enough for my use.

for newbie welders what is the best CO2/Argon Mix to get? 75%/25%?

I always found BOC's Argoshield the best. not cheap, but worth the money for the better weld quality and ease.

If you're building your own chassis, dont forget its that which is holding the hi-po motor, trick suspension, wheels, sticky tyres, 4 pot brakes etc. together, not worth going for cheap IMO.
