Wanted: Scottoiler for motorbike
RichardK - 21/5/10 at 06:16 PM

Got a couple watching on the bay for about £10 but wondered if anybody on here had one kicking around that they wanted rid of?

Doesn't have to be that brand, can be any.

Cheers

Rich

I'm also watching a few on there at the mo as I want one for the CJ360t...
Best work out who is planning on bidding on what, don't want to bid you up un-knowingly

Fitted one to the CG125 a few hundred miles back and I'm guessing the chain will now outlive me and will see dozens more passing their tests for decades to come :-)
Not needed any adjustment since fitting it (where it used to need a tweak now and again) and because the chain is fully enclosed is set to a pretty miserly rate (drip every minute ish of anti fling chainsaw oil and some clean "unkown oil" I had in a can)

Great pieces of kit, though I suspect its going to be less great with my open chained CJ and will require more frequent washing off

Regards
Rob

Just get a 5L can of oil and throw it on the road. They do the same thing.

Personally, i wouldnt touch another Scottoiler. They are more hassle than they are worth. Ive used chain wax for years now, and its excellent. Ive only ever had to change a chain between services once, and that was on my Bandit (commmuter 600N) where i had a scottoiler fitted.

First job on part exes is to remove them and put them on ebay, that'll be where the ones you are watching came from Just brush them with EP90 then wipe surplus off with a rag whenever you clean the bike.
