OK, being a tight a*se I am looking for a freebie type program that I can do some basic scale drawings on.
I want to draw up my garden, and then work out where I can put in my posts for supporting my aerial arrays.
ie I need to put 3 poles a certain distance apart, to support a Delta loop. being able to play on paper, is a lot easier that holding a tape measure,
with no one holdinh the other end!.
Suggestions on a postcard please.
Cheers

Google Sketchup it's free and not too difficult to use.
+ you can do it in 3D very easily and change textures etc.
Another vote for Sketchup.
I have used AutoCAD for years, but managed to pick up Sketchup in a morning.

Techsoft 2D design used in lots of schools- can be set for orthographic drawing and dimensioning is very easy.
