boggle - 23/9/10 at 08:26 AM

hi all...

i have just a few days left to move the car now because my ex wifes new fella wants to use the garage...

last night i fitted the uprights but found i had lost the nuts that fit to the upper and lower ball joints!

does anyone have any nuts that will fit???

its the ball joints that fit the cortina uprights...

thanks everyone

Barry

If you're only having to move it a little way (e.g. onto a trailer) then you can use ratchet straps to pull the wishbones together, thereby keeping the BJ in place.

Worked for me when the BJ nut fell off and they couldn't move my car onto the recovery truck.

Otherwise are you sure they're not the same size nut as cortina wheel nut? I'm sure I used an old wheel nut to tighten one of the balljoint nuts on my car....

the wheel nuts fit the top ball joint but not the lower

they could be metric or imperial on the maxi ball joints.
