Afternoon all, hope your all well? i have another little request if possible.
In the light of now building 2 bike engine cars i need to see the filter options for BEC (obviously std air boxes arn't run most of the time).
both cars have 06 R1's in so any pictures of these would be great. its my understanding the engines have duel butterfly intake systems (whats
that all about?) but i would like to see the mounting of the back plates for pipercross/K&N filters etc to the iTB's

Not 06 airbox but 03, so not sure if this will do you.

I think I've read the secondary butterflys are supossed to improve drivability at low revs BUT Ive also read they're supposed to limit
throttle response at low revs to stop bikers throwing themselves off the back.
My airbox is just a folded ally' box thats got the base of the original airbox PU'd into it. Not as pretty as Joe's though.

As I couldn't find a definative answer for what they did i left them on.
My tb have the second butterfly removed, no probs on cold starts etc.

secondary throttles speed-up airflow at low revs and discourage reversion. All around less likely to get nasty bucking when the throttle is wound
open quickly at low RPM. The effect on the bike is that Malc ends up with your engine!
If running standard ECU then leave them on, they shouldn't do much harm. No aftermarket ECU supports them (as far as I am aware), and removing
them doesn't seem to cause problems on the GSXRs. For RGB you need to leave them in (part of the induction system).
Some bike racers remove them as at WOT they can only present a restriction.
Here's my airbox. I built it big cause that was what Mr Bates said works best, it has the filter inside (photo in archive of details).
