Looking for some 3-6" diameter pipe to use for flues for some log burners I am building for the workshop. Need a couple of 45deg bends as well.

Any good sources?

My chimney on my workshop wood burner is about done (did'nt seal the hole in the roof properly & rust has done for the galv steel telegraph pole I used) so I've just bought 3 lengths of this on ebay:
150x1m pipe, stainless steel flue, ducting, masterflash on eBay (end time 02-Dec-10 15:34:06 GMT)

It's not here yet so I can't comment on quality but so far their service has been good. I got the pipes, a roof flashing, chinamans hat & a few other odds & sods & asked how much tha courier would cost as for each item added together it was silly, they reduced it to about £14 which I thought very good & the reply was prompt.

I did think about second hand but a quick phone round likely sources turned nowt up, I thought about going to look in reclaimed metal yards etc for something to use but by the that would still cost a bit & use up much of my little spare weekends & this should be a long term fix.

ha I have been having the exact same thoughts. Going to try the calor gas bottle pot belly stove idea But yeah, im struggling for locost ideas on the flu pipe.

I know where there is a meter or so length of 8" galvanised pipe. Pretty thin wall - I think it was a duct of some kind before.

I can throw it in the boot next time I'm at the site if it's any good to you?

Thanks for the suggestions, need something cheap. Its got to go out of a window which is currently boarded, hence needing a couple of bends. But I can always make the bends anyway.

Think I need around 5ft of pipe all together, I might have a word and see what the largest diameter exhaust tubing is.

Annoyingly I have only just put an order in with the stockholders and am having a load delivered today. Oh well.

what about spiral ducting ?



its fairly thin walled but cheap as chips - we use 80 & 100mm stuff for setting anchor bolts in concrete at work

I got 15 foot from the local engineering place. 5" diameter, 3mm wall for £35.

Just saw some 45 wedges out and weld up for bends.

You want a damper as well above the stove.
