Does anyone know where these can be obtained? Have tried Googling, and the only versions with female thread are in US.
Have even tried at work, (TRW Automotive, formerly Girling Brakes), but was told these items are as rare as Dodo eggs.
Adaptors to what thread?
I may be able to help...
Thanks for the reply. Thread is standard M10 x 1. Found a potential supplier in the States (http://www.brakequip.com/fitting8.html).
However, they deal thru distributors, and the nearest is in Netherlands.
They contacted me saying "The price is € 3,90 each and the way of transport is € 28,55. (This is with DPD). So the total amount will be € 43,26
within VAT."
So, 2 x € 3,90 = € 7,80, and they're asking nearly € 29 + VAT, just to ship them over. Seems a bit extortionate to me. Surely someone here in UK
can supply these parts?
Have you tried Demon Theives? I bought some female banjo adapters from them a number of years ago (metric thread). I think the brand they had were Goodridge, but i honestly cant remember.
I have been trying to find some for ages, only ones so far are
these ,prices made my eyes water
Could be worth a call to Think Auto. They have a lot of odd fittings that aren't on the website or in the catalogue.
Cheers,
Nev.
Thanks Nev, I'll give them a try and report back.
Nuneaton Hose & Fittings Ltd
These guys are very well priced and very very helpful!
I can't check my emails as I'm on my phone right now, but If you google the company name, you will find their website and the giy I was
dealing wiyh was owners son, and whilst he sounded relatively young he def knew his stuff and was great to deal with. I think hisname was Ben...
Again as Nev said.... Think Automotive in west london! Expensive but you'll get them from them
If nuneaton hose give you a silly price for postage ........... I'm sure there is someone who lives less than 5 minutes from them who could collect on a saturday and post it on.
Thanks to all for the interesting info. Rounding up all of the posts, here's my cover-all reply.
cs3tcr - Demon Tweeks; yup, checked them out. None of the Goodridge fittings were suitable, and there seemed to be mainly the swage-on type.
Steve Hignett & Neville Jones - Thanks for your suggestions, will check them out.
MikeR - May well be in touch.
Again, thanks for your feedback.
